Prior to starting the Company, Gary worked with Hector MacDonald Associates Chartered Architects in Inverness. Elected Highland Regional Councillor from 1975 - 1985 and served on Regional and District Planning Committees which provided a unique insight into the working of Local Government Planning & Development.

Once, if not twice, a week Gary can be found climbing a rockface either indoors or out on the hills. With a good knowledge of rope work and climbing techniques, rock climbing is a main physical interest.
Being interested in all things 'weather', Gary is an amateur meteorologist, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society and a Scottish Committee member of RMets. Helping organise local talks and lectures is a rewarding pastime.
